I'll believe it when I see it...

Got a pamphlet in the mail from AT&T yesterday. Talking about something new they are offering called u-verse. I made David call them today. He talked to a nice guy named Will (nice name).

As it stands now, on October 15, 2008, a technician will show up at our house somewhere between 8 am -12 pm. They will be here for 4-6 hours. They will make my computer wireless. We will have a very very basic "cable" installed as well, with some HD channels. E and Will are excited about this because we will have a History channel, animal planet and discovery. I think they all think this means they will be able to lounge around and eat bon bons while watching Hannah Montana, or something like that. We will also be able to record up to 4 shows on DVR...what is that? We enjoy some episodes of LHOTP, I Love Lucy, Monk, and movies...but for the most part, we don't watch regular TV (unless we are at my mom's house)...as I listen to Levi watch a Blue's Clues DVD.

Ya know what this means though? We will get to watch Monk now, Tory!! Yah! if we keep the cabley aspect of this. We are just so excited to have hi-speed wireless!

I will truly believe it when they are done installing it and have me up and running.

I'll be back later, out the door to run a few errands.

**Edit: I just re-read this post and I sound very unbelieving. if you know me, you, well, you just know me. Thank you for all of your fun responses...I can't wait to be like all of you out there in cyberworld.

You are absolutely going to love it!

We hugged the poor lady in January when she came to our house representing AT&T and uverse!

Now I don't know how we lived without DVR and wireless!

Congratulations!!!!!

a DVR is better then air, water and food combined!!! No joke ;)

We have extended cable for the History channels and Discovery channels alone. No joke (again!!) Your boys would love it here! Cousin Kara is an uber nerd when it comes to her documentaries. I am so excited I have someone to share them with!!!

So glad to hear that someone that wants technology can actually get it! Yay, for you! Now, as for DVR, I cannot say that I am as enthusiastic as your other commentors, but it is a nice benefit. It's similar to the old days of "taping" on VHS tapes; however, it is all digital, and can even help to program itself. You can also start the program about 10-15 minutes after it starts taping, and because of that lag time, you can watch it without commercials. I know, you will have to figure it out all yourself, but you will like it. I use it to capture Monk when we are not there.

Heather, I will be sure to blog the experience of u-verse...but it would be even more fun to meet for a GNO...and talk about it the whole time. (just kiddin about talking about it the whole time)

I'm trying to remember the name you had for someone's jean shorts...we talked about it way back last fall...it's driving me nuts that I can't remember it...help!
