We're still here...

to give you an idea of the walk from the house, to the cul-de-sac....upper right hand side of pic, past the guard rail 20 steps...ugh. with a squirmy Molly in your arms or whining Levi on your back

To say that we got some snow is, er, um, an understatement.

12.4 inches at the Indpls. airport. and it's safe to assume that we got that amount, if not more. It's supposed to start melting tomorrow and Sunday (30's) and then we get more on Monday. great. :) choose joy.

This is what we've been doing this week...trudging here and there in all this white stuff. It's not fun when you have little ones...plus, we park up in the cul-de-sac once we get a car or two out...and if you've been to our house, you know the walk from the house to the actual street is not 10-20 steps...

I hope to be back on here later with some pix of my lovely kids. sledding or schooling or doing what they do best. Hope that this finds you and yours doing quite well.

Happy Friday to you!

Weekend Update

Melanie and my nose.
Mickey's got something in his eyes.

Mel was highly amazed at the mini-jukeboxes at each table (though ours didn't have one. nice)....

Tom was highly amazed at the bill....

David was highly entertained by the straw dispensers...hey, you're cute, guy!

I love how my brother always manages to hide his mug...and what a mug to hide behind. :)

#1 and #4...

Our gang at Johnny Rockets hamburger joint...what a fun time and yum food...good portion sizes too! (thanks Tommy...you da bomb)

Melanie and Abby, a young gal who is involved in some Shakespeare in the Park...Mel has her fairy wings on here!

Andrea from Safe House Productions...read below for some cool information we found out about.

I love it when my little guys discover the magic of super heroes! Levi discovered the comic book hero box and spent a good long while setting them up and just being amazed at them. Isn't he adorable?

~~So here we are...a Sunday evening...always fun to look back on Friday evening to now....so that is what I shall do. Oh Snap (we are watching That's So Raven right now).
~Friday night: David worked late...we vegged out, since D. had to work on Sat.
~Sat: The house was pretty much clean (Go Thursday!!)...so I exercised (woohoo) and we did laundry and the usual daily household stuff...knowing that in the evening, we were going to venture out to Barnes & Noble for an evening of books and coffee. We did enjoy a fun evening with my brother and without Molly (whew, she is so no fun at a bookstore, sorry girl)...and while at the amazing B&N, we met a neat couple that run the Shakespeare in the Park here in Greenwood. They were doing some fund-raising and holding little demos, answering Q's from people that wanted to know more about being involved in drama (as if we need ANY help with THAT)...the fun drama. I will blog more about this stuff later because I think it will be something interesting that our family takes part in, in the near future.
After that, we strolled the outdoor mallsy area...and went to Johnny Rockets diner...good, clean fun, walked the indoor mallsy area and picked up Mollsy! Thanks, Mom and Dad, for keeping the little sprite for us.
~Today: wonderful worship time and teaching service at Horizon...exercise at the YMCA and home, home, home! At this moment in time, Levi is pushing Molly back and forth, back and forth on the tile floor. She is in a bucket. it's cute and I shall blog it later. for now...off to sup. Hope you had a blessed weekend and that you stayed warm and healthy.
~I John 3:23, 24: And this is his commandment, that we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.
~~Note: It is so aggravating here on blogger...I have my text all laid out the way I want it, spaces and such between captions and paragraphs and when I view my blog, it's all jumbled together! If any of you bloggers out there know how to solve this problem, I'd be very thankful! LY

Happy Birthday Tory!!

Happy Birthday to YOU! Happy BIRTHDAY to you!! HAPPY birthday, dear Tory!! Happy Birthday TO YOU!! and many, many more!

My cousin, Tory, is turning THIRTY-SIX today...it's not that bad, T.
I mean, imagine this...we could be turning 40.
We'll cross that bridge when we come to it! and then we'll sit down and take a break and catch our breath.
I pray your day is especially special...even though we don't live near each other and even though we've never gotten to spend real time together, thanks, in part, to weird family gatherings, I'm blessed to know you, to be related to you and to be encouraged by you every day! You rock!
Lots of love and birthday hugs, coming down the pike to North Carolina!!
Laurie, David, Will, Ethan, Melanie, Levi & Molly.
whew...I'm pooped now.

Bread and Butter, Baby

cute guy...making floors shine...Shine, make 'em wonder what ya got....love that song...so fitting for his occupation!

pix 1-3 : Wiley Dining Hall at Purdue Univ. W. Lafayette, IN

NCAA Hall of Champions in downtown Indy...David is on the right hand side of the pic, talking on the phone. probably to me, telling me to spank his kids. a lot.

Pipe Creek Rest area...north of Muncie, IN...
As always, my shutterbug bro took these amazing photos. danka Tommy.
These are floors. uh duh, Laurie, I think they can tell what they are....
These are floors that my husband and his crew work their magic on...vitrification....woo woo. maybe I'll blog about that process one of these days..I seem to know a bit more about it now...
These are floors that bring home the bacon and fry it up in a pan. (though we don't eat actual bacon, being Old Testament Jews)...
I'm honored to have a husband that is so dedicated to his profession (all the way around, folks) and is good at what he does, on every level. His love for Jesus Christ is even more of a dedication..it permeates all that he does!
David is awesome. His intensity and drive make me tired. I guess it's true what "they" say...opposites attract. Today, David, I praise God for you...and thank Him that you not only pulled "it" all together for your big INDOT presentation, but that it was a success...Thank you to the folks behind the scenes, for your help and commitment...it will be your bread and butter too! lots of work for Indiana Dept. of Transportation!
I will get back on here, hopefully, with some more updates, but quite honestly, being up till 5:30 am yesterday to get 36 folders ready for said presentation has taken a bit of a toll on this ol' gal. I don't bounce back as quickly as I used to, which is still a lot quicker than some of ya! ha ha. I joke.
Until then, David, I love you...even thru all the stress and trials of the day, you are a source of strength and peace in a rocky world. You Rock, sir.

Thing #1 and Thing #2

"we like each other" for now.

Levi, you are teaching Molly bad things.

she's saying "Cheese" here..it's quite cute how she says it...and she wrinkles up her nose and becomes almost edibly cute! (they did her hair at the Y again tonight)

all. day. long. up. and. down.

Thought it was about time that I included some recent moments on this here blog.
I've been a blog slacker and I apologize. Dad. Tory. Becky. the three of you that visit my blog. :)
Can I just say, without sounding ungrateful or complainy.....
that Molly wears me out?
I mean, I know it's a good thing. She's so healthy, fearless, bright, cute, funny, smart...but that combination is so tiring. She's like all 4 of her siblings before her, rolled into ONE little whirling dervish of a kid.
Phew! I just put her to bed...Praise the Lord! She goes down and the house rejoices.
We have the gate at the top of the spiral stairs. Why? I dunno. to keep her safe. She pops that lock right off and gets on the first step, turns around and makes sure to close it back up again. all the while teetering on said first step. Makes my heart skip a beat. but I've chosen NOT to worry or gasp over it...she's going to have to get good on the death trap stairs and does quite nicely, thank you! My parents were here tonight and here comes the Unsinkable Moo Moo Young...my mom gasped. my mom nearly fainted. (she NEVER did this with US, love you momma)...Molly will be the death of ya, huh, Mom?
it's neat to see the budding little friendship between Levi and his baby sis...they hang out, they lock themselves in the "toy" room...and sometimes, if we're lucky...he locks her in the the toy room and when we realize it's too quiet, (20 minutes later) we check the room and there she is..pulling out EVERY toy known to man. I think they will be good friends. Levi, make sure you look out for your sister. she's going to be searching trouble out...(I have a great new song by Lenka...called Trouble...I need to see if I can post it on here...)
Thanks for letting me post these random thoughts and musings on a dreary, pre-Inaugural Monday evening...Happy MLK day! hope you had a fun day off of whatever it is you do. I know my parents did! Hugs from this Molly-worn momma!
