during Intermission of the musical, we decided it was high time for a self-portrait...this first pic was me talking to a guy that was offering to take our pic. I was explaining that we were quite good and rather capable of taking our own picture but thank you.

I do love my sissy. It'd be nice if she actually visited my blog again.

Since she left her job to come work for us, for David, she says she's only visited my blog twice.

Seriously? two times?

Granted the past two months have been rather iffy for my blog, yes, I know...but c'mon.

So here's my vow, Dad, Tory, Beck, whoever else out there drops by now and then....I will aim to blog at least every other day.

I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place.

haircuts and stuff

Good afternoon to you!

I was trying to take some pix of the new 'do...I always dislike my new hair the day after...

I got about 3 inches cut off, if not more...It felt quite good to lose that weight...my hair is thinning and the cut did it some good!

I am a horrible self-portrait girl, for a few reasons.

I don't know how to flatteringly hold my noggin/face/neck to look decent in pics. Plus, I have a hard time knowing how to hold the cam right to get it that way.

this is a total "nerd head" pose...and it was windy to boot.

My sister is good at all of this. She can "turn it on" with a moment's notice...we were playing around at soccer practice (making her husband peeved since we were jabbering and photo shooting, not watching our little ones at their FIRST practice)...She is good, she has "it" down.

Ok, well I have some pix from soccer practice with Levi and Pipes...but I will have to post them later...I'm out the door to the YMCA...and off to a busy, hectic weekend!

yes, that is a double chin on moi...not the most flattering pic (what's new) but we got it, that's what is important...a mom's nite away...as Steph said, we have to have some little glimmers of hope to cling to. not that mothering is horrible. it's not! but it's challenging, and these little outings make us better moms. or so they say. :)

this is a fun little book we happened upon...a Hiptionary...i so need this...I am so unhip, though hippy and hippie...how does THAT work? but 'twas kinda funny because it opened right up to this page...right hand side...blog. ha. whaddya think of that?

ok, a nice straight on one. this was fun because she's in a green chair. with a green shirt. a green coat. green eyes....she loves her some green.

and last but most definitely NOT LEAST...three of the the most comforting luxuries for this girl (ME)...chocolate, coffee, and my sissy. love you girl! you spin me right round!

Before I head off to the Yyyyyyyy, MMMMMMMM, CCCC, AAA (I'm singing here)...thought I'd better post these coffee excursion photos...we enjoyed sitting and chatting about life, kids, what made us laff or cry this week...and then mosied around to some books and ended up at cards...always a good time was had...love our last Thursday of the month coffee talk, Beck.

I had just found out the month before that I was expecting...I was really harassing B. at this point to get pregnant...and she thought she may be!! weren't we all glowy? (I am on the left, stripey scarf and B is on the right)

This was the last time that Mel wore anything Princess-y! Beck got Pipes and Mel matching shirts for the big Disney Princesses event at Conseco Fieldhouse.

My parents are always so gracious when it comes to all things Disney on Ice. In December of 2006, Beck, Piper, Mel, Melissa Cunniff and her nieces and daughter Jordan, and I went to see the Princesses on Ice!!

I found these pix while I was at my sister's house today...yes, B. I lifted them...but I only wanted to scan some into my bimputer for future use! I will bring the album back next time I come over!! I thought it was pretty funny to see pix of myself...I didn't look nearly as horrible as I felt at that point...morning/all day nausea...nothing quite like it! so worth every fleeting moment, dontcha think, Charmaine? (on a side note: I am gonna bet u r having a boy...just a hunch)

Ok, so by now, you know that my blog is more for fun than for real depth. And that's cool with me! Life is so serious and stressful and this is my outlet for relaxing, having a good time and making my little sister laugh when she gets to work each day. I know, also, that I have relatives and friends all over the grand US of A that check this out...so I will save all the depth and insight for my blogging friends! You go, kids! :)
With all of that aside, I was digging thru pix tonight, trying to find something different to blog for B.'s Monday morning arrival to her job...and I had forgotten my dark hair phase (2004)..these pix were taken within weeks or days of each other...B. and I didn't look too much alike as kids but sometimes I can really see how people would get us confused for twins...and to see people double take when they see us makes us giggle. hee hee. whaddya think? (remember, she turns 30 in 23 days...)

Well, Beck is in need of a post...so I will take time out of my scrappin'/shopping frenzy to put a little blast from the past up on here for your viewing "pleasure". ha ha.

These pix are sadly out of order...but they are all from Christmastime of 2006. Andy and his boys will be flying in on Christmas Eve to be with us for 5 days. My mom has been out in Cali. with him since last Friday and is flying home today...we have missed you Momma!! Can't wait to see you!

I am looking forward to some down time this weekend before Christmas...i have so many gifts I need to finish up..calendars, coasters, wrapping, purchasing...Bah Humbug!! no, it's really fun and we need to embrace the holiday. That mantra belongs to Beck and I. I think moms feel the pressure and sting of the frenzy a bit more and I guess as moms, that's ok. Shield the blow. Takin' one for the team. yup. ok...movin' on.

I'm officially 35 now. My sister got me a really cool sister necklace, a heart and a key...I LOVE it, Beck...thank you so much, to your family!! and to you. I have yet to use my Starbucky's card...maybe we could do coffee (you could do hot choco, of course)...Thank you for the delish dinner...it helped stifle the blow of Mom and Tom being out of town on my b-day and David working to keep us caught up thru the holiday week. I am so stinkin' blessed to be your sister. I love you more than you will ever, ever know! I LOVE YOU!!

Yesterday, I got together with my BFF's and they made me a really neat bracelet for my b-day...I will have to take a pic and post it but it has all of our birthstone jewels on it, and a CROSS right in the middle...the way it should be. Jesus Christ at the center!! a good, daily reminder!! Thank you, girls!! I am loving each one of you so much!! I am blessed with a good circle of chicklets...what would a girl do without her "girls"???

Ok, well, I gotta shower because Mel has her Piano teacher's Christmas party today...I will try to get pix of that, though she will be flying solo at this event. Pal Charmaine lives across the street from said piano teacher so I may go visit over there..though I have so much shopping yet to do...ahhhhhhh. Hope you all are embracing this Christmas season!! Ok, well, I am done with the blogging for the night, but had these 3 pix to get on here for Becky's workday Friday. The top one cracks me up. Self portrait sillies. she was rubbing off on me, I guess.
The middle pic is just funny. This was the night before Beck's wedding...it was a stressful time, to say the least. It was a cold, rainy night and Beck insisted that I go to mom and dad's to work on bouquets for the next day...I wanted to but the kids needed me and it was just sheer crazy...I think I make this expression more than I think or more than I should. it's not nice.

I'm getting all choked up looking at these pix. And there's no particular reason that I am posting about my sis and I...shoot, she hasn't even had her kid yet (poor thing) but it's just fun to reminisce and look back at all the bad hair but good memories. Dontcha love her big specs in the wedding pic?? My stylish, beautiful no matter what sis with great big ol' owl glasses? yeah, they were in back in 93. And she was hot! good times, good times. This is to make you giggle today, Beck. And maybe this will help you to dilate past a fingertip. Hope our girls have the kinda relationship that you and I have been blessed to have. I coulda killed ya when we were kids (slob, copy cat, "unswearer") but I'd surely be lost without you. (you can weep now...yes, I mean it too, dang these hormones...) Love you! These are my Girls!

I hafta say, I would be lost without my MOMMA, my SISTER, and my DAUGHTER! I am a momma's girl thru and thru...but I've gotten better over the years. I used to get so annoyed with my mom because she would talk to the baggers and cashiers at the grocery store, but now, I do it. Mom, thanks for being a good example all thru the years of patience, unconditional love and kindness! and for putting up with all of us. My sister and I, wow, what does a girl do without a sister? She has been with me thru the good times and bad, sharing things that sisters share and now we've had the opportunity to be pregnant together and have our second daughters together...She is my sunshine (our special song...goes back to 1994)...And a daughter?? How does a mom make it without a daughter? Well, I'm sure those moms' have survived but Melanie is a blessing through and through...and I thank the Lord for blessing us with her on that muggy spring morning 9 years ago. She is a rare gem and one of the sweetest girls you will meet. So this is a shout out to my girls...I love you, Mom! I love you, Beck! I love you, Melanie!! You guys are my source of inspiration and I praise the Lord for putting you in my life!
