Becky...

Canadian Lakes...Beck is the shorty on the left...

Welcome Piper!

I managed to forget my camer yesterday for B's birthday party.

Yeah, I really dropped the ball on the finale of the Becky Goodness! Sorry 'bout that, Beantzy.

Tom, when you get a chance, I will get your pix from you! You know I appreciate it immensely.

We had a lovely time at the Becky celebration...a delish dinner at Vito Provolone's (mm mmm good food....) and then Boyden's cake and presents at B and S' house. We did the (ever so cheesy) memory time...which will surely be a new tradition at whoever's party we are having....it was sooooooooo much fun, wasn't it family? such a nice way to reminisce and talk about something other than politics, sports, or the latest gossip...it was a great time! I love my family!

Becky, I hope your birthday was memorable...can't wait to see your charm necklace...I will definitely have to blog it, give the little etsy shop some advertisement...so cute!

On that note, I'm outta here...busy day...busssssy day...I'm joining Weight Watchers today! a little food incentive would be great right now...get me over the slump! Hope your Monday is Marvelous! Happy March!

On the second day of Becky Goodness...

My true love gave to me...

Two really tightly woven perms....

Ok, so this little song I'm doing in honor of Becky Birthday month (which, Mel informed me last night that it was Ethan birthday month too so I'll have to come up with something...I got "strong-armed" into this month long Beck History month thing...hee hee) will be over after today...Yes, Beck, I will still scrounge up old pix of you and remember u on this monthlong celebration...but my creative juices just "ain't" flowing.

In this picture above, Beck (right) and I are with Gma T. (aka Legs)...I am pretty sure I was too old to be holding a teddy bear in this picture but I am, nonetheless (remember Teddy B?) yeah. not one of my classier teenaged moments. ugh. Can I just say....I am so hot?

~I do have to say though that my pink sweater with layered tanks was ahead of the times. Mom got a good deal on a two for one perm for B and I here too. Beck was loving her Cabbage Patch kid, Zara Helma. nice.

~So there you have it...my Becky memory for Wednesday, February 4, 2009. only 23 more days till she turns THIRTY-ONE. (she's just old, look at all that loose skin....)

~up next....an Ethan memory, to keep the crowds happy.

~and because I have so much free time.

~really, I do.

Oldies but goodies...fo sho

The following pix are way cool...while digging thru my mom's closet one day...I found my Grandma T's old scrapbook...

This picture right here is why I like to scrapbook and label pix...who are these people with my grams...she is the older girl on the left...we'll call her "Legs"...so from now on, when I say Legs, this is who I'm referring to..

Legs and a dog...

Here is Legs with a friend that is shaped more like me. Fun-sized, short stature...emphasis on FUN!

Legs is the gal sitting on the carriage with the ethereal white dress...how down home can we be?

Grams, aka Legs..is the second on left...lovin' the flapper dress. Beck, these legs look a lot like yours. wow! I do believe that my great-gma is the chick second from right...

Legs was alllllllllwaaaaaaaaays a water gal...loved finding this because this is one of my most vivid memories of Grandma. The Grandma with the pool (or the Gma with the Wolfie) as opposed to my dad's mom, who was the Grandma with the Lake. what I'd give for some warmth and swimming right 'bout now.

Legs, going for a drive!

Legs, in one of her peppier outfits. hee hee. I joke.

The face in this pic? so my mom. and what is significant about this? Gma was an extraordinary pianist/organist. She passed the piano gift to mom, skipped Beck and I and we pick up with Mel! Mel, this is why you MUST stick with the piano. for the Great Gma you only knew on this earth for 18 months...now I must dig up pix of Legs in her later years at the ivories.

Young Legs with her momma. Joanne and Christine.

Legs is the little gal in the middle of the group...her mom, I think, is right behind her. I'm guessing that the other older gal is an aunt??? and that little bitty baby? cute bonnet. wish I knew who you were, oldie.

Legs is the little gal on the right...couldn't tell ya who that little dark kid is...but the lady is my Great Gma.
I love walking down memory lane. It would seem I live in the past. I am an old, old soul in a lot of ways...love the big band music, love the modesty that was so important back then, love the "innocence" that came with that time in America. Christine Lorimar, my Grams, was born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island (yes, that is ONE of the nifty 50)...and from there, I'm guessing she ended up in Michigan.
I wish so much that I'd sat and pulled memories from her head...took that for granted, assumed she'd be around a lot longer than she was. Thought that stodgy Scotch woman would outlive all of us. She died rather suddenly on Sunday, November 7, 1999. She was 87. dang, I miss having a grandma.
that is it for tonight...hope this finds you warm, healthy, full of joy...and not completely snowed in. Like me.

Beware: another camera explosion...Circle of Lights

cute little grizzly holding up a lamp post...Levi thought this was neat.

this is outside of the IPL (Indpls Power and Light) office...I wanted to sit and stare at this amazing tree all night...it's ALL lights...wave it in my face, and I'm a goner...it was so cool! and then they have those cool iridescent things all over as well...whoa, pretty.

a closer look at said cool tree...Mel wants one for our house next year. ha. you're cute, kid.

I like how Mollsy tilted her head when she realized I was taking her picture.

Levi wanted to pose for a lot of pictures this night...he would come up with his own scenes for me to snap away at. I enjoyed walking behind the group with you, Tiny. You are a thoughtful, sweet kid. You are really neat!

we weren't sure what this was...like tire rubber or leather...but cool nonetheless.

outside the Columbia Club, a place for ritzy peeps.

the amazing circle view of Christ Church Episcopalian...the ambience on the circle is so neat!

the top of a building down town. rather eerie as well.

This pic did NOT turn out...these are the remains of the RCA Dome, which was imploded a few weeks ago...and it was rather eerie to be viewing what was left. spooky. Beck, totally Scooby Doo mystery!

this is for you, Scott....and Beck and girls. Let's see if the Colts can get to the Super Bowl this year...happy thoughts. (see below)...I think it's funny, though, how the sign only shows No Right...ha ha....I hope I didn't just jinx them.

Not much to say with these....we went downtown for our annual tour of the Circle of Lights...it was so much fun...and such a fun tradition for our family. some years we have friends with us, some years we don't. this year, we didn't, obviously...and that's ok. Our family is a gaggle of friends on it's own! It's fun to go around the circle, enjoy the festivities, see the carriages, enjoy the sights and sounds and freeze your tukus off! good, clean fun! Molly kept saying, "wooooow"...'twas cute!
Thanks, family, for being such good sports when I stick my cam in your faces. I love you for that. I love you anyways...but these are some way cool memories and I'm blessed to share them with all SIX of you! Thanks, David, for being so agreeable when it comes to our fun family times...you are a cool dude! so glad to walk this life with you!
nuff sap.
g'night...God Bless You. Choose JOY!

Ready for this?

On days like this, when it's so lovely outside, it's hard to imagine that this stuff is coming.

It's fun. for a time. (till Christmas, then it's drudgery)

It's not fun when you have to load a very strong-willed baby into a car seat, buckle her down, which is almost impossible since she's wearing a big, puffy coat...all the while, getting muddy, wet snow every. where. I'm not quite ready for coats, hats, scarves, mittens, runny noses...ahhhh.
so let us enjoy the blowing, falling leaves that end up in our doorways, on our carpet, in our hair...for his days are numbered. This may be that last day. yup, I think it is....
sledding is quite fun though...we have the perfect yard for it.
You all know I'm not complaining in any way...I am so blessed to be a mom, to be able to go here and there with my gaggle of kids...so blessed that I have a husband that works his tail off to enable us to do the cool things we do. I'm feeling very insightful. Thanks for letting me share.
o wait, this is my blog. I get to do that here.
Happy Thursday to ya!
Parting words: Psalm 56:1, 3, 4 - Be merciful unto me, O God: for man would swallow me up; he fighting daily oppresseth me (that is not a typo). What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee. In God will I praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me. King James Version, 1611

I would so totally type more but something is up with my stinkin' keyboard...so this alone is taking way too long. somebody help me pleeeeaaaaaassssse!
