Caged beasts etc.

she looks innocent, folks. don't let her cute, girly onesie or bright blue eyes fool you!

If I can't bite you, then I will just bite this barrette.

off like a shot...bouncing hair and all...

look at those legs...the baby is leaving and the little girl is emerging. all ready. hmph.

but I wanna be out. side. now.

We've got a wild animal on our hands.

Our sweet, eternally cheerful little girl has left the building. And left us with an independent, stubborn, strong-willed biter. Yeah, a biter.

She likes to bite those that she feels are threatening her freedom. e.g. Levi, who likes to put a bear hug on her neck, like 20 minutes ago, and Melanie, who was saving her from certain injury after climbing UP on the piano.

Last night, I was bushed, beaten up (we all were) after not only exercising for well over 2 hours but from the 2.5 hours of leaf raking/burning/yardwork etc. Moo decided it was a wonderful night to be a pill. She had ONE nap yesterday...who'd wanna miss out on our yard fun (besides me of course)...so I thought she'd surely be down earlier than 9...she screamed and thrashed about in her bed....up we go...but when she was UP, she was cranky and difficult. I won't keep going...she didn't want to fall asleep, even when D. and I were in there...eventually falling when we had just given up.

I'm aggravating myself typing all that out...any suggestions folks? Is it wrong to give her Nyquil before bed? whiskey? I've never done that before but I am not opposed to trying it...I've never had a biter either...any help there?

Davey boy finished the porch rail...and don't it look grand? may I say it? the new porch is rockworthy...it doesn't seem like the same house to me. it was so nice to sit out there for a bit last night and appreciate all of the hard work and what's left of the autumn beauty, all while getting some serious smoke inhalation from our burning leaves and all of the neighbors' as well!

How very porchy of you...

these pix pretty much speak for themselves...David and John got a lot done on the upper porch over the weekend. I can't believe how different it seems up there, especially with the roof (plywood) on the trusses now...it feels like it belongs out in Colorado or somewhere rugged like that...it ROCKS!

The kids, David and I sat out on the new addition last night, watched Randy take off in his big rig...and recapped the previous days...it was so cozy and inviting out there...I wish you could be here to see it...it's really nifty! it's not finished yet but it's gettin' there!

Ok, just wanted to post those because I told Daveyboy that I would! maybe now he will look at the blog! just kiddin' deary. I know you've been bizzzeeeee on the porch and such!

Welcome to Deliverance! j/k I love it here!

the little old roof will be changed but not sure when that takes place. ground will have to be excavated to the staircase...not sure about that either. It's all in Davey boy's head.

the swimming hole

the view from swimming hole. the brown posts will be covered with cedar and painted white, and we will have white rails. not sure when this will take place either.

everything is green finally! our lawn leaves much to be desired but we figure we have time for all that pruning and prissing when we're older. maybe. I'm all for a rock lawn!

not sure why I put this picture on.

You can almost hear the faint sound of banjo's playing Dixie in the background 'round here!

But really...we'll give 'em some class. if it kills us.

ha ha. if you know us, you are laughing especially hard.

Certain people in my life (you know who you are and I love you), that seem to have forgotten where I live, wanted to see the updated photos of our porch-a-licious project...hope these different views of ol' blue capture what we're doing. I'm still guessing myself. David changes his mind frequently. Glad he hasn't taken the same approach with wives.

We are trying to get the ground around the pool nice 'n' sturdy, so as to prevent ground erosion blah blah blah...but it's really pretty...and we are also trying to figure out a way to rig up a place to get in and out of the pool for the summer because apparently we aren't going to have the actual pool deck done for some time. This stuff takes more time in real life than it does in my mind.

Ok, so I've posted 3 times today! wow!

I'll hafta get a pic of Molly's first band-aid...she's stuck on 'em...Levi nicely and bloodily slammed her sweet little hand in my dressing table drawer today...and ripped her skin almost off of her middle finger...so she has a dangling piece of sweet baby flesh and a nifty boo-boo that I'm trying to keep covered...but she has gotten off 3 bandages already. She looks at it and it's so funny...she really examines this foreign thing on her finger...holds it up in the air as if admiring it. kinda cute.

in other news, I'm sure you saw the news that Indiana's primaries were today...Hilary took this state. Darn it! In more exciting news, I'm reorganizing our storage room/garage (we have no garage yet so this particular room, right off of our kitchen, acts as our garage)...so when I get THAT done, I will be sure to enlighten you with the joy and lightened load. I am in a pitching mood....YEHAA! watch out kids!

Off to la-la land...peace out, folks!

whooooo are you?

'Memba Me? (lookit the stack of convention finds behind me)

We're gettin' there...

I know you must be dying to know what is shrouded in the black garbage bags...

Expensive Science book....

My girls...

Hi. Did you miss me? it's ok, you can admit it.

It's been a crazy busy couple of days...

I'm not sure who took that pic of me but I figured I'd show my face on my blog, since I was so happy in the pic! not so much (it's my serious face or lockjaw, as my family used to call it). But my hair was done. I know. help.

The science book is on here because, well, it just is. Long, complicated story...but good stuff! Apologia Science. Not cheap but rooted in the Bible, so that's cool. (84 dollars cool)

Isn't that there porch gettin' purty? The boys have been such an Amaaaaazing help to their Dad, and me for that matter, though I did have to go out there today to show them how to properly sink the screws...that's ok...they're young yet. E. likes to see how far he can get them in. Aside from Will's killer allergies, they have done so much to get this done! The shrouded black thingies? his and her statutes...no, really, boards that will be the guts of the posts that will lead to the new roof...not quite sure when that part of the project will be completed...but, it'll keep ya comin' back for more.

Lastly, took this pic of Mel, Mollsy, Nora and Pipes last Friday evening, after spending a good part of the afternoon walking the exhibit hall at the Convention Center (homeschool conv)...with Molly.

I could keep rattling on but I'm in need of sleep so I'll try to think of something to blog about. I know you will be waiting with bated breath. check back soon, k?
