Help!!

I've gotten a bit further since this pic was taken but man, my heart is not in it today. I'm under attack of some sort...

I'm adding some halogen lights too, which are supposed to be white but are more purpley. soooo, this year's tree will be quite interesting. I'll call it my eclectic tree.

I'll be back later....I need to go get my buy one, get one free holiday drink from Starbucks to keep going. pathetic.

Oh Tannenbaum

Christmas 2009 - back when Molly had adorable ringlets in her hair. sniff. and that great floor lamp behind my dad? Ethan broke it shortly after Christmas last year so it's no longer here either. dang.

Tonight, I am putting up our Christmas tree. It's not really how I want to spend this Friday evening but.....It's been sitting out on our porch for a week now and so I had the boys bring it in so we could start fluffing it.

I usually wait till the days around Thanksgiving...but wanted to get a leg up on it this year...work at it a bit at a time. ya know? We are doing the Drumstick Dash on Thanksgiving and will most likely be hosting the Turkey Day dinner at our place so it will be nice to have it all done.

I'm putting it in a different place this year. I will take some pix when it's a bit more finished.

Hope you have a delightful weekend. David will be working all weekend but we have set aside some time for some fun....of which I hope to blog. That boy needs some fun. Until then, word to your mother.

Holly Jolly Saturday

Saturday saw me at home, all day, with Levi and Molly...trying to make sense of the holiday explosion that had erupted at our house...I didn't think I could do it, but with some coffee, Christmas music, and cooperation (I like to call them the 3 C's), I got the tree up, most of the deco here or there, and the house nicely ordered before David and the 3 big ones arrived on the stoop at 5 pm. Whew! 'Twas so nice to have them home...until E. threw up...but it was nice to have them all snug and back in the cubby...I slept better last night!

this was where I thought we would put the tree but it really hindered the elliptical use...now that we have 2 couches in the living room, we couldn't put the tree where we usually do. bummer.
Love the action shots of levi and molly here....

aforementioned explosion. what to do...

how magical...that little blob on the floor by the skirt? a tiny tree...that Levi put there and told us that it was the tree's baby. I didn't realize it was still there when I took this pic. We really like the tree in this spot!!

we've put this ornament on our tree for the 16th time...our first Christmas together...

these two mugs, taking naps while I did the tree stuff...how cute is this pic though?
David and I went out for some coffee last night...and Levi got to go with us...you can see him peeking thru...wait, there's one where he shows up...never fear...

David loves Panda Bear Express (his name for it)...

I know it seems like I take a lot of these self-portraits of me and whoever I'm with lately...but I figured it was the only way I'd show up in pix (that I could control anyways)...and since I don't have a lot of pix of my mom from my younger years, I wanted to reverse that trend for my kids. Though the pix are 99% of the time unflattering, that's ok. There I'll be. for posterity...

Off to take my walk/run...hope you are relaxing, kicking back, getting stuff accomplished, enjoying your day....hugs!

Sheer Molliciousness and other stuff...

check out my new Baby's First Christmas p.j.'s!!
lovin' this grabbing for the camera face...
Molly and Jakob
Levi hangin' with the tiny guy...
Molly with Jenny, Collin, Zoe (light brown pooch) and Lucy (black & white pooch)...

I forgot to post these pix from Saturday. I love the pj's pic where Chubby Dolly is grabbing for the cam...this is her new "expression".

That night, amidst bad weather, we ventured out to visit with our friends, the Russell fam. They have 3 kids but I only got pix of their 2 boys. Melanie and Allie were invisible that night. Collin is 14 and very good with the little peeps...he introduced Molly to her first puppy experience and she really enjoyed it. Jakob is such a tiny little dude...he walks around and it cracks me up because he is so sweet and little. I got a cute pic of him walking away from me...I'll have to post it because it's so sweet. Thanks for the good food, good fellowship and the cute cookie jar, Jenny and Tony. We are thankful for you and your family.

We got blasted with some nasty winter weather over the weekend...it is definitely interesting trying to get my Christmas shopping started, deal with 5 kids and deal with nasty roads, ice and carrying a baby seat. Molly is a super shopper. She is so darn good.
Ok, well, I'm off to finish stuffing envelopes so I can get my cards sent out before Christmas!! Yikes. pressure is BUILDING...o yeah, and the lights on my tree stopped working again. the only ones that work are the inside ones...ack.....I don't want to say it but the tree may come down right after Christmas! never before in Young history has one of our trees come down so quickly. bah humbug.

Donna's house, good friends, Christmas splendor...

My short-haired daughter with Holly and Sophia...eatin' MY salsa...(scoundrels)
Celebrating with Luke (standing on the chair) for his birthday...
Alisha with Molly! Alisha, you are so good with kids!
Whatta group of gals! Jill, Sherry, Laurie, Donna down in front!
We were all dressed in brown tops except for Sherry...she didn't get the memo
O Christmas Tree, o Christmas Tree
Hi there y'all!

What's new in cyber space?

Not much here, just a day at home (praise the Lord for those regrouping days, huh??), listening to Mel practice some Christmas songs on the piano, Levi yelping for some cereal (at 11:20 a.m.)...
These pix above are from a gathering at the lovely Donna Robbin's home...her son, Luke, had a birthday! I love this group of gals...they all mean so much to me! The Lord was truly looking out for me when He put them in my life!
The picture of Alisha with Molly is one of my new faves. This girl is so good with my kids...she is always ready to help me out with squirmy Molly and I really appreciate her eternally wonderful attitude! You Rock, Alisha! (she comes from good parentage too, so that helps!!)
The last pic is just a cool one I snapped of our tree late at night. Silent Night...not a creature was stirring (yes, two different songs/poems)
Ok, well I need to post again, since I probably won't again till Sunday or so...up next, my cousin Dawn, Aunt Lanie, Laynee, and Taylor. stay tuned!

Molly's First Christmas Tree Experience

Not very cooperative
Craning her neck to have a look
In the midst of trying to "throw" herself out of Bumbo
lovin' some Blue's Clues
Levi sharing his "pizza" with his grabby sister
I thought it would be fun to get some pix of Molly by our tree...seeing that it's her first Christmas and all. She really just wanted to eat but I made her sit thru it, as if she has a choice yet.
Levi was in the living room watching Blue's Clues. I think she will be a Bumbo potato, because she was totally happy sitting there watching TV with him. This is where she was sitting when she had her blow-out, she even christened her Bumbo.
I think for my Christmas pic this year, I may just do the five kids. It is nearly impossible to get all SEVEN of us together unless it's the weekend and even then, we struggle to all look presentable. I need to get Will's hair trimmed (that's what I keep telling him but I think he needs it CUT right off, whaddya think???)
Ok, well, let me know what you think on the Christmas card pic and Will's hair. what is in style for a boy of 13? would we be ok to trim it up? It just looks so shaggy and I'm half tempted to get him a head band or barrette so he can keep it out of his face. whatta dilemma.
Sorry for the rambling post...time for some breakfast...love, peace and Happy Tuesday!
