fallen trees and buff boys

these are two separate piles of firewood. we will be set for 2009/2010...when, I'm sure, the gas prices will be even moreso through the roof.

Here's David, cashing in on Jose's hard work...

seems I didn't get any good close up shots

Will and E working with Jose, a guy on David's crew. work is slow right now so instead of putting Jose back into the "pool", D. kept him busy cutting our trees up, stacking and such. Did he do a lousy job? "No Way, Jose"...ok, I know, that was bad but I wanted to implement that somewhere in this post.

Killing three birds with one stone...here the boys are doing the Jillian Michaels video... after a long day of yardwork, a man's work is never done!

Howdy folks!
What's new over your way?
I know these tree cutting pictures are quite riveting...
We kinda think they are. we've already gone through one chainsaw and are on our 2nd. We have to 2 amazing piles of firewood...all of the branches and brushy stuff is cleaned up, the next two trees we would like to cut down are ready to go! We are busy bees. Good work, Will, Ethan, David, Jose, and Melanie (Levi even contributed...Good Job kiddo!)
I will wax eloquent no more...time to clean up the joint. Hope you are having a relaxing weekend. I'm not (choose joy. choose. joy.)
Peace!

just a little bit more and then I'm done

this little brick building is Ye old Waverly bank (it says so on the front)...it's actually a cute building but the junk around it is astounding. I tried to go back in time and imagine it as a cute little bustling main street...

not sure what all this rubble is but wow. part of an old trailer and other debris.

the locals came out to see us...what is that in their window? (upper left side of pic) yikes!

This is it...this is all I will post on the big D. I have some swimming pix of different swimming events we've had here lately...and cute bathing pix of Levi and Molly (totally decent of course)...so I will start that process right now! check back soon.

Hope your Wednesday is a super-de-dooper one thus far!

Deliverance & Lovin' your Levi....

I know it seems "mean" that I kinda make fun of where we live. But rightfully so. I enjoy our house, feel blessed to be able to live here but right down the hill from our cozy abode...is some serious "something". It is a flood plain...so it's affordable living but I guess with affordable that comes serious degradation...it's falling apart down there.

This is the Deliverance swimming hole, complete with a big happy face ball (we couldn't figure out what that was so if you may know, leave me a comment) that takes you away to that happy place, where you can forget all your troubles and the fact that you haven't cleaned your house, yard, car for 20 years and everytime it rains (which is OFTEN lately), you go wading!

hard to believe that we are situated at the top of this hill (right hand side of the pic). that this scene is a hop, skip, and a jump away. and this is just a hint of it. It really is quite frightening! broken down bikes, tractors, cars, garbage here there and everywhere etc.

A view from the school parking lot at the top of our hill

Levi really was enjoying Grandpa time...he just likes to make serious faces when the pics get started...

a classic

Good Tuesday morning! (although this will say Monday, June 30 because that is when I started it)...hope this finds you enjoying this milder than usual summertime weather! I just went out to sweep the porches, water the plants and noticed the steam rising off the pool...must've been pretty chilly last night. It's only going to get up to 80 here today...lovin' this break from heat...but it sure makes for some chilly swimming! das ok.

As you can tell, I really have nothing to say today! I hope the above pictures give a peek into what's been going on around here lately. I, in no way, mean to seem condescending in regards to our neighbors down the hill by posting those pix. I just found it funny that we live so close to that. and not that we are any better than those folks. we aren't. just wanted to give you a little taste of summertime in Deliverance. Now I need totake some pix of our actual neighborhood...

Time to get the troops moving so I may be back later on today. Have a wonderful Tuesday, folks!
